Love Everybody

Yesterday seemed to be one of those days where I just couldn't find my groove, I hadn't slept well for a few nights and I was just flat out tired. The day was going well enough, given my sleep deprivation and allergies, but I just never could get my feet and my body going at the same time, until...

I GOT TWO VIP BIG & RICH TICKETS.

Yes, two, yes, VIP, and I got them for freeeeeeeeeeeee.

First, we were entertained by Candy Coburn. I have to admit I'm not an everyday listener of country music, I do like it, but I just usually listen to whatever is on and no one leaves my stereo on country so I rarely get to listen to it. I have been listening to country at work a lot, but I'm not "listening" well, just for the noise. Know what I mean? Anyway, Candy was pretty good once she got started, she had a fiddle player that rocked too. She played for about 30 minutes or so and then we sat there listening to what was probably a mixed CD for the 45 minute stage change. Two Foot Fred came out, at least I think it was him, I never did actually see him then, and he introduced BIG & RICH! They were awesome! Again, I really don't know a lot of their songs, really just Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy, Comin' to Your City, Holy Water and 8th of November, but they put on one hell of a show. I really liked Jalapeno and their Drinkin' 'Bout You song. There were fireworks and big screen tv's and bass. Oh. My. God. was there ever bass. LOL MWH looked over at me once and said "Mom!! My pants are shaking, everything is all vibratey!!" She was having such a great time!

After several awesome songs, Cowboy Troy came out and got busy on stage and rocked the house with I Play Chicken with the Train and My Last Yeehaw. It totally fucking rocked. All of it. I was a bit disappointed that he didn't sing If You Don't Wanna Love Me, but it was ok.

Big Kenny was so energetic, he was so full of WOW! John Rich looked amazing in his half black half blue rhinestone jeans. MWH and I both got T-shirts and I even went to Wal-Mart and bought both their CD's, Comin' To Your City and Horse of a Different Color.

I'm so glad I got to go!!

An apology

About two months ago I was involved in a little misunderstanding. Unbeknownst to me, there were a couple of reliable witnesses to this misunderstanding and it was pretty much agreed by all that I did nothing wrong. Anytime something like that happens though, I always second guess myself an worry and wonder if I really did aggrevate the situation or cause any damage. I was told I didn't but sometimes I can be a bitch and since I'm a worrier I just worried that I did. Well today my worries were swept away. The other party to the misunderstanding apologized and told me that she was sorry and that she just wasn't feeling well that day and that well, she's just a "bitch". Hey, who isn't? I even got a hug out of it to boot. Rock on.

And, if that wasn't sweet enough, I had just dialed a very important person on my cell phone just mere moments before this apology happened and she heard the WHOLE thing. Talk about sweet.

I was on cloud nine for the majority of the day. Until this conversation:

Numero Uno Friend: Wow, that's a pretty nice feather you got in your cap there! (meaning the apology)
Me: Yeah, it sure does feel nice, but you know, tomorrow is another day and I'll end up eating crow or pulling my foot out of my mouth soon enough so I don't wanna get too used to this feeling.

Yep, methinks I know my place. LOL

Quick Pics

My sister sent me two pics of the new li'l man this morning so I had to share!

He's so adorable and tiny and perfect and amazing...... I'm so glad he's here, I can't wait to see him in person though! Soon....... soon!

Welcome to the world, little man!

My newest nephew Daniel Aidan is here!

He was born at 5:55 p.m., Thursday, September 21, 2006. He weighed 6 pounds and 6 ounces and was 17.5 inches long. He's doing well now but he had some breathing problems shortly after delivery and had to be life-flighted to another medical facility (bad cell connection so I couldn't get the name). He's adorable and has no hair and I can't wait to meet him!

My sister is doing well, she should be released tomorrow, Daniel should be released in a few days too.

I forgot to ask about my brother-in-law or my first nephew, Joey, but I'm sure they're both just tickled Daniel's here and that everyone is healthy.

God or Evolution or ???

My memories of religion are few but strong. My first religious memory is of going to a pink church with pink, decorated concrete blocks and crosses out front with two blue haired women, neighbors I think, who, in my mind, resembled the little old lady in the Tweety cartoons. These two little old ladies visit me in my nightmares and my thoughts often. These two little old ladies walked me into that quaint, quiet, peaceful church, walked me up to the altar and fed me lamb tongue, raw lamb tongue. At least that is what I remember. I can still feel the texture of it in my mouth, the cheweyness of it still makes my jaw ache, the smell still lingers in my nose. If that is religion, I want no part of it. I think I was 4 or maybe 5. I remember it like yesterday.

A few years later, my jerk dad was screwing around on my mom and his girl friend kept calling the house to see if he was home yet. My bi-polar mother knew something was up but couldn't put 2 and 2 together and she started to lose it, mentally. She had been going to a First Assembly of God church while my dad was gone and somehow, in her bi-polar mind, she thought it was the devil calling her and she had her first breakdown, I was 7. I remember hearing her scream at God asking why didn't He save her, why did He let the devil call, all this time it was my dad's fault.

Fast forward to about age 10, my cousin invited me to his church, First Baptist Church. He did the Saturday morning bus route. It was a weekly event where the preacher would get the congregation's youth and go to the elderly, the invalid and the other kids in town to see if they needed a ride to church Sunday. If the elderly or the invalid needed groceries or company they were helped, we did what we could, which usually was not much, but I remember going home feeling like I had done something good. We also got to have pizza afterwards and now that I'm blogging about it, I wonder if the pizza was what made me feel good or if it was doing the "Lord's work" that gave me the warm fuzzies. I don't know. I worked the bus route for over a year and was a very active member of the church. I was in 5th and 6th grade. I remember being in the Christmas program, my music teacher at school was also our music teacher at church so I had a good singing part in our pagent. I was saved around then too, as was one of the loves of my life...... but that's another story, one I keep close to my heart. This was when my grandfather died as well, I think I needed God then, I needed to know where he, my grandfather, was. That he was not gone, that he was still there for me. So, from grandpa dying to the Christmas pagent, to being saved fast forward to my birthday the following April. Every Sunday the congregation got up and acknowledged birthdays, so and so turned 86 yesterday, another lady turned 51 Monday, other kids celebrated birthdays, teachers, the preacher, his kids..... My birthday comes and no one acknowledges that I'm even alive that day. I turned 12 that Sunday and felt so alone. Alone in the house of God, alone everywhere I went. I'm still that 12 year old girl that no one noticed. I was wearing my best skirt and top, I even had on strappy sandles that day, it was April, the sun was shining, there was a slight breeze, I even have a picture of that terrible day. That day I was ignored. After a year and a half or so of doing the "Lord's work" I quit. I never did it to get anything out of it, but when I felt alone I stopped. Feeling alone while alone is normal, feeling alone while with a church group is not. That is another day etched in my memory.

That was age 12, I was in 6th grade, I was a peewee cheerleader.

When I was in 8th grade, 14 I believe, my half sister, Bear, came to live with us. Her mother had let a gay man move in with them and she found him and his lover and a bottle of baby oil on her free flow waterbed. I really didn't understand it all, nor did I really care about what it meant, all I knew was that my wonderful sister was going to be staying with me. She went to church, I think it was a presbyterian church, so I went with her, I'd have followed her into hell if she'd have let me. I had good memories of that church but then her mom kicked out the gay man and she moved back home, she stopped inviting me and I stopped going. It reminded me too much of her and her friends and reminded me of how much her friend loved her and I still had nothing and no one.

When I was a freshman, some of my friends invited me to their Nazarene church, that was fun but that was about the same time I really started driving a lot and I also started drinking about then too and going to church was just not all that interesting, there was just something missing.

Then I read an article about a 3.3 million year old girl. I've thought long and hard for years about this very topic, do I believe in evolution or do I believe in the bible? My mind grasps science, time altered our bodies to make them what they are. How could one man, no matter how superior, create this amazing world in 7 days? How could that one man's son's death mean so much to so many so many years later? Why do we pray to God yet others pray to Allah, are there really 2 (or more) Gods? Why do some religions believe that you have to believe only their ways are right? Why is everyone so divided on religion when it's supposedly such a great thing? How can two different churches opinions vary on the same good book? These are all rhetorical questions, I don't want them answered, I'd rather not know. My best friend is a Mormon, my oldest sister is married to a Catholic and several of my friends are Lutheran, Baptist and Christian Scientists, how can one of them be "right" and all the others be "wrong"? How can it be right that one of us will end up in heaven and not the rest?

I know that several of you are going to flame me for asking these types of questions, or tell me to get out my bible because the answers are there, tell me to get my ass into church, talk to a preacher, get psychiatric help...... I have so many questions and I just don't care anymore. It is what it is. My head believes the science, my heart wants to believe the bible. Deep down I think it's both, neither are 100% right or wrong.

Do you know what tomorrow is?

Tomorrow is the first day of fall and hot damn am I ready for it!! And, if that's not great enough, tomorrow is supposed to be when my new nephew arrives! I'm so excited! My sis hasn't called me yet but she's going to the doctor today to find out if he's going to take him. I am so excited about planning a trip to St. Louis so I can see him!

Back to fall, beautiful fall....... The weather has been WONDERFUL! It's cool, crisp and wet, just the way I like it. Perfect sleeping weather, perfect work weather, perfect family weather. I want to go home and make a pot of chili (turkey of course) and bake something (with Splenda).

Tonight we got to MWH's Parent/Teacher Conferences and I doubt we'll have much time for anything else. That's fine though because I've got good TV on tonight, Grey's Anatomy returns tonight, which is up against another fav of mine, CSI, thank GOD for PVR and after those two gems I have E/R too! YIPPEE!

After we got back from Joplin Wal-Mart and Jim Bob's, Bob and I went to High Winds for our free play last night. We had a lot of fun, I didn't win but he did. He was golden, everything he touched spun red or whatever. He picked a pot with "70" in it and nearly spilled his beer! We played blackjack for a while, the dealer was our neighbor, Chance, and he was killing us! UGH! We let him use our mower and I think I may have to rethink that little agreement. LOL Bob and I both played, I think we each played about 10 hands and between the two of us we only won 1 hand, I actually hit 21. One of the women at our table was beyond drunk, her Oriental boyfriend was playing two hands (is that doubling down?) and he was doing really well, but his girlfriend wasn't. LOL She kept calling Chance Chase and it was totally pissing him off.

I gotta go back to the weather though, I'm so glad we're hitting fall, I love fall! I can't wait 'til next weekend and I can hit a football game or maybe we'll go camping or something. My head has been full of Christmas songs and I've already told the family to get me their lists or they're getting what I want for Christmas! LOL

Have you seen the price of gas lately? Oh my gawd, it's still going down! I don't want to jinx it though so I'll shut up about it, but how awesome is that?

On another note, Mrs. Coach, I'm afraid that we've got a conflict. I've been told that this office is strictly an OU office. I don't think they are completely against OSU, but I do think that I could be fired if I supported anyone other than OU.

More later, my cell phone is ringing......

Hump Day

I can understand why Wednesday is known as hump day but I just don't get why I say it. It just sounds dirty, I'm not a dirty girl, and yet I still call Wednesday hump day. Go figure.

I've got so much to blog about but so little time.

My sister may have her baby Friday. Another wonderful little boy. She'll know for sure tomorrow at her doctor's appointment. I think they are going to do a C-Section but, again, I suck at remembering details.

Cruella is still in therapy and miserable. I feel so bad for her. The ol' Cody Coyote nearly cut off his thumb working on his ATV and she's stressing over every thing. Relax babe, maybe you should take up drinking? ha ha ha

I worked a PTSO booth at Designs of Autumn Saturday and got sunburned. Being white is just not all it's cracked up to be (white meaning pale, not white as in Caucasian, because being Caucasian ROCKS and honestly I've never been anything else so I can't compare it; it is what it is). Back to my point, PTSO is raffling off this home made quilt for 8th grade promotion and we haven't had too much good luck in ticket sales yet so I'm stepping up and working it. Actually, there has been a whole drama going on as to whether or not it's PTSO's fundraiser or not but now that I've found out it is PTSO and not athletics I'm working it. I'm PTSO President and it's kinda my responsibility to see over things like this. There is still more drama to unfold but majority rules and it's all for a good cause.

After DoA, we went to Neosho and Joplin, Bob is thinking of getting MWH a new ATV. I'm thinking of another vacation, we'll see who wins. LOL Although, the idea of him and MWH being gone simultaneously is a damn good thing.

Sunday morning I woke to a text from the First Bitch (at 3:45am to be exact), wanting my famous no bake cookies. I'd been wanting to bake or make something so it was good to hear a request. Sunday I fixed no bake cookies, a turkey lasagne (yuummmmmmmmm) and baked chicken. I love lasagne but Bob hates left overs so I took 3/4 of the pan to work with me, it's Wednesday and we're still eating on it. LOL The cookies though, they are gone.

I also took MWH to the Coleman Theatre to see Fiddler on the Roof. It was pretty good. I had never seen the play or watched the movie before so I really wasn't sure what to expect. Shannon's son, Brady, was in it and he did a spectacular job! We've really got some talented people in our town. We even had a real, live TV and Movie star in it too! David Froman, he was in Matlock, The Edge of Night and 21 Jumpstreet to name some of his work, was in it and he was really good, you could tell he knew what he was doing.

My mom and I went to Ladies Night at Buffalo Run Monday evening, they started doing the Free Play at 6:00 so that kinda helps the crowd for now. I found a new machine and I did pretty well on it, I played back what I won but I had a damn good time and that's all that matters.

Tuesday MWH's glasses broke, the hinge snapped, and now I've got that to deal with today, I've got to go to Joplin tonight to get that fixed. Dr. McQuigg's office here in town tried to fix them but they're not repairable so now I gotta go to Joplin. It was sooooooooo nice of Dr. McQuigg's office to try, they didn't even charge me! They rock, I love hometown places like that. MWH even looked at the frames they have and maybe she'll get them there next year, maybe.

Now, onto a little meme.

1. Are you a fan of board games?
Yes, sometimes, I like the classics like Monopoly and Candyland. I play Yahtzee on my PDA too. I occasionally play solitaire on my computer but that's about it. I also have found a neat jigsaw puzzle site that I like to go to but I haven't got to do it this week, too busy. MWH LOVES games though, she always wants to play board games.

2. What's your favorite board game and why?
Probably Monopoly because I can remember as a kid how my sisters and my cousin and I would play "chip" Monopoly rather than strip Monopoly because we didn't know how to play strip monopoly and eating chips was more fun than taking off our clothes, we were young, so young. LOL We had a lot of board games though, I remember Scooby Doo and the Addams Family and so many others from the 1970's.

Yesterday was Talk Like A Pirate Day, so lets answer a few questions about that. I can't think of any more board game questions.

3. Blackbeard, Hook, Sparrow - who's your favorite pirate?
Sparrow, Johnny Depp wins hands down.

4. If you were a pirate, what would you name yourself?
Oh my, that's tough! I'm not sure.......

5. Uh oh! Someone's gotta walk the plank! Choose a celebrity you want to throw overboard (all in good fun, of course. We're not actually advocating for the tossing of celebs in the ocean).
It would have to be Paris Hilton. I just can't stand her. She's too blonde, too thin, too stupid, too slutty and too rich. She's just too everything. She should be gagged, beaten and forced to work at a Quiktrip for the rest of her life, oh, and her uterus should be removed because she does not need to reproduce, ever.

Back to life, back to reality

More song lyrics as titles. What has this world come to?

This morning I had to go to Bob's work for a physical, basic weight, blood work and blood pressure thing. No biggie. I'm just tired from getting up at the butt crack of dawn and driving all over town before a single cup of (decaf) coffee.

Yeah, life can be a bitch sometimes. LOL

I gotta tell ya, I have the best bosses. Sometimes I get tongue tied and can't blurt out anything but gobbledy gook, but one of the Wise Men has such a calming effect on me, he just smiles, and his speach gets a little slower and poof, my gobbledy gook makes sense. LOL Another of the Wise Men is just hilarious, he cracks me up. It's so nice to have good bosses, I've been doubly blessed in that department. Actually, both this job and my last job have had the best bosses in the world. No complaints from me. I really do love my job, the bosses are outstanding and the ladies I work with are truly amazing, no back biting, no competition, no pissiness or petty crap. The First Bitch really does a great job keeping us in line.

Home

We are home.

We left Cody Friday morning at 7:00am and headed East through the Big Horn Mountains. We went through the northern pass this time and didn't enjoy it as much as the southern pass last time. I didn't see any moose or bear or anything really impressive. I gotta remember to stay on the south pass next time.

We hit Deadwood, SD, and took a trolley ride to the downtown area. It was nice riding in the trolley, I saved some of the trolley tokens for souvenirs, they look like poker chips, way cool. We were going to spend the night in Deadwood or Lead but the Deadwood Jam was going on and we couldn't find a room so we headed to Rapid City for the night. We got a great rate on our room and went to bed early, we were exhausted from all the walking in downtown Deadwood! I swear we walked 3 miles!! Everything in Deadwood is uphill, no matter which way you walk, it's uphill! I gambled a little but didn't win anything, I like our machines here better, much better. You have to hit the bet one button before you spin, each time...... bet one, spin, bet one, spin..... Unless you're max betting and I didn't want to do that. LOL Ok, I did a few times because I got tired of bet one.... spin.....

As we were leaving Rapid City it started raining. It didn't stop raining until we got to Concordia, Kansas!!!!!!! All across Nebraska was rain, rain and more rain!! Bob was so sick of rain! We didn't see any wrecks or stupid drivers, just rain. We made it home at about 11:30 last night and it was so nice to be home.

Today we've went out for breakfast, bought groceries and rented a few movies, nothing major. Bob's napping, MWH's doing the last of her homework and I'm blogging. I was saving my posts to add pictures but I'm too lazy to do it now so you might get them next week. LOL

The last day......

Today was out last day at the Fitzgerald Mansion in beautiful Cody, Wyoming. I could stay here forever.

Today, the boys went ATVing again and I went into town alone this morning and got the last of my souvenirs bought. I got Joey a "Who Pooped in the Park" book at the park yesterday and today I got him a t-shirt and a coon skin cap. It's probably too big for him right now but maybe my sister can put a stitch in it so it's not blinding him. LOL After I got back, we girls went to the Willow Fence Tea House and had a beautiful lunch. This Tea House is in a lady's home and is decorated so elegantly it's amazing. It's elegant and eclectic and simply someplace I could go to every day. After lunch we headed over to Patti Nails and got our nails done so very "youniquely". Patti is a flight attendant at the airport there in Cody and has a little shop there on Beck Street for her "down" time. She has a house out on the North Fork that she rents out during peak season for $300 a night! WOW! Can you imagine? Her hubby was there too and he's a riot, Patti talked him into giving her a pedicure and from what I can gather, he got some bonus points! She did my pedicure first and oh did it feel good! I desperately needed to shave my legs, I was almost embarassed, but I was on vacation!! The polish I chose was a shiny purple that is still so glossy it looks wet!! MWH got a manicure and her nails are a fantastic, earthy, deep, shiny shade of orange! Orange is the best color for her since she's so tanned. While Patti was doing MWH's manicure, I was looking at all the nail polish. I noticed that my polish bottle was different than the other OPI polishes and after further inspection I discovered that it wasn't just polish it was "pawlish". As in for dogs...... OPI makes several beautiful colors of dog nail polish. My toes are now "Mutt's New" and I'm damned proud of it. LOL Patti likes it because it dries faster and is non toxic for kids. It's also good for adults if you're one to bite your nails. I'm not but I thought it was freakin' hilarious that I got a pedigree pedicure!! LOL

After that we headed back to the house to meet up with the boys. We went back to the Irma for dinner and I was not impressed with the service. We got crappy service and Bob's buffalo burger wasn't fully cooked. Our waitress was horrible but I've been there several times before and it wasn't like that in the past.

We leave for home in the morning and I'm not happy about it. I'm having too much fun......

Yellowstone National Park

Yesterday we headed to Montana (big sky country) to go to Painter's Outpost for our "camping" experience. LOL I'm used to Girl Scout camping. Camping in soft sided tents, using latrines, fire for heat, sleeping bags, that kind of camping. This camping had bunk beds, baseboard heaters, hot showers, flushing toilets and coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Yes, they had decaf too, just for me. LOL

When Cruella was explaining the cabins to me, she kept saying how low key and rustic they were. Oh. My. God. They were heaven. I could actually LIVE in one if the chance ever occured! Granted, there was a chamber pot in the event of an emergency (the shower house was about 30 yards away) but who gives a crap? We were in the middle of Shoshone National Forest, there were animals everywhere, we were next to a beautiful stream...... need I continue?

We drove through Dead Indian Pass on our way to the cabin. The closest town was Cooke City, MT, and that was a really cool town! You can ride ATV's on the streets in Cooke City! That is heaven to my dear husband. Every ATV he saw on the road or parked at a business got a scowl and a few choice words. LOL We entered Yellowstone (the park) Tuesday through the Northeast Entrance through the Lamar Valley, Tower-Roosevelt and Blacktail Deer Plateau and went over to Mammoth Hot Springs where we saw a herd of elk, cows and calves, eating the grass in a camp site, there were probably 25 head in the herd and they were talking back and forth, we could hear the mommas talking to their babies, it was so precious. MWH really got a kick out of it!! Hell, I really got a kick out of it! Then in the center of Mammoth, ther were 4 other elk just lounging around on the grass. Two over by some houses and two more over in a grassy noel by the road. There was this little girl standing outside her house just watching them. Cruella walked over to take pictures and struck up a conversation with the little girl. She didn't care about the elk, she just wanted someone to play with. LOL Kids..... One of the elk was a spike bull elk, he was good sized but his rack was pretty small. We were within about 25 yards of them, that's truly amazing. Mammoth is near Gardiner, MT, so we headed out of the park and got some ice cream and hit the stores. I like Gardiner, it's a very cute little stop, the stores there are old and rustic and they have the kind of floors that creak when you walk on them. Teddy Roosevelt himself may have walked in those very stores I was in, history is so cool.

It was about dark so we headed back to the cabin (the same route only backwards) for the night. I loved the little cabin, I wish I had one in my back yard!

We got back up this morning and headed back into the park, this time heading south at Tower-Roosevelt towards Dunraven Pass and Canyon Village. Along that stretch we saw a cow moose and her calf, that was a fantastic find! There are only 400 moose in the park and we saw 2 of them! They were so beautiful...... I love moose. At Canyon Village they built a new visitors center and it was way cool! There is a sizemograph (sp?) there that shows the volcanic (or is it geothermal?) activity there at the park. There was some activity near Madison and Norris that morning just an hour or so before we got there! Can you imagine Yellowstone erupting while we were there? We'd all die, it's that simple. All of Oklahoma would see the ash from the eruption..... That volcano is huge. Period. Fucking huge. Upstairs there was a stuffed bison with a calf and MWH really liked that exhibit. She loves seeing the animals, dead or alive. LOL I like the mounts because you can see them close up and not worry about them charging you or anything. After Canyon Village we headed west towards Norris and Madison and out the West Entrance to West Yellowstone. West Yellowstone is near the Idaho state line and it's a beautiful town, we didn't get to do too much exploring since we had to be out of the East Entrance (towards Cody) by 8:00. We headed back to Madison and down towards Old Faithful (it wasn't erupting right then so we went on in search of bear) and did the whole lower loop through West Thumb and up to Yellowstone Lake (enormous and simply breathtaking) and Lake Village and up to Fishing Bridge for souvenirs and a potty break. We made it through the construction at Sylvan Pass with enough time that we didn't need to worry about getting trapped in the park. There was a bad slide at Sylvan pass a little over a year ago, you can still see the rocks and the work they've done there is incredible! We headed back through Shoshone National Forest towards Cody and made it back to town for dinner at Zapata's. I had the best sour cream chicken enchilada!! I wish our Mexican restaraunts were more like Zapata's. We went back to the Fitzgerald Mansion and we're all ready to crash for the night!

Crikey, so sad. Rest in peace, Steve Irwin

Steve Irwin has died. He was one of the greatest people of our time.

I don't want to depress myself on his passing so I'll stop here on the Irwin loss. I'm on vacation and I don't want to bring myself down.

I don't think I blogged about Cody yesterday, no time, we were sooooooo busy. Saturday, the boys went ATVing and the ol' Cody Coyote totalled his ATV going down a hill. Not just any mere hill, it was on the switchbacks, a very dangerous and extremely difficult trail. The ol' Coyote was in the lead up the hill and Bob took the lead coming down, I'm not sure what happened, loose gravel or what, but it slid and the ol' Coyote hopped one way and the machine went the other way falling down to the next switchback level. It landed upside down, the handlebars were smooshed and a lot of the plastic molding is broken. The boys tore it apart last night and it is fixable but it'll take some good money and a lot of time.

While the boys were out tearing up their toys, we girls were shopping. We hit all the shops downtown and had a blast!! We had lunch at Buffalo Bill's Irma Hotel and I had potato soup and it was the best I'd ever had! So rich and soooooo creamy. I swear I could have eaten a gallon of it, well, if my stomach were bigger than an egg. LOL We also went over to the dam for the tour and I got MWH a National Parks Passport. Why didn't I get one before? We travel so much, why is this the first time I've seen one?

Yesterday, Bob, MWH and I went for a drive towards Yellowstone. We didn't want to go into the park, just along the Shoshone National Forest to look for animals. We didn't see much, just a few mule deer and some black tail deer, but the scenery was breathtaking (as always). Yellowstone is about 52 miles from Cody so it's a nice drive. We drove up some side roads too to go off roading, one of the roads was near Buffalo Bill's Boy Scout Camp and it was pretty cool, we had to drive through a creek bed and that was awesome. There were grizzly bear signs at all the camp grounds!! Someday we'll have a hardsided camper that we can bring up here to camp, someday..... There is definitely no tent camping in grizzly country!!

We drove up Spirit Mountain near Cody, it had some tight switchbacks on it too, Bob loves to scare me on the edges, they are straight down, scares the shit out of me!! But I did manage to take some pictures from the top and good grief we were up there!

I'm not sure what we're doing today, it's Labor Day and I'm sure the traffic downtown will be crazy, not sure what all stores will be open either. I just know I'm having a blast. Tomorrow we're going to Painter Outpost near Cooke City and staying in a cabin and going to Yellowstone Tuesday and Wednesday.

4 Month Anniversary

WOO HOO! It's been four months today since my gastric bypass surgery. I've lost more than 85 pounds! I don't know exactly because of scale changes and recalibrating and the like, but I do know it's AT LEAST 85 and in reality I think it's about 10 pounds more but I'm fine with the least loss, I am tickled shitless over the loss no matter how little. I haven't lost this much in years and I feel so good. I bought some cute Tink pajama bottoms at Wal-Mart, size 2x (18/20) and really they are a bit too big. I'm still stuck in that mind set of buying things a little too big just to be comfy (especially pajamas), incase I balloon up, but I'm getting better, I bought a pair of jeans at K-Mart and they are a bit tight but I like them and I know that it won't be too long and I'll be looking for a belt for them!

On a Cody note, I absolutely love, love, LOVE Rocky Mountain Mudd Espresso!

They have these little coffee drive-thrus all over Cody called Rocky Mountain Mudd Espresso, we call them Mudd Huts. I LOVE THEM! They can make me anything I want in decaf and sugar free. Mudd Huts ROCK! I swear I'm drinking nothing but Mudd Hut drinks this trip, they are simply to die for.

One disturbing thing I discovered today though, they do NOT have Red Diamond tea here. That could seriously deter me from EVER moving here. LOL Actually, I can't have caffeine and since they don't have decaf Red Diamond it really doesn't matter, but someday I'll be able to have a little caffeine and when I can it will be Red Diamond Splenda sweetened tea.

Relax, don't do it...

Who sang that 80's song? I'm on vacation and it just seems to resonate through my head. Relax, don't do *insert work here*. I'm so glad to be here, so glad to be able to relax, so glad to have such good friends and tickled shitless to have such fantastic bossmen who are letting me take my vacation!!

Dinner last night was soooooo good. We went to the Texas Roadhouse in Billings and Bob had the best looking prime rib steak dinner, it looked amazing. MWH and I shared a portabello topped chicken breast and oh. my. god. I can still taste it (IN A GOOD WAY!). They have the best rolls there too, yeasty and sweet.

While in Billings, we hit Costco and got some supplies and MWH got some new flannel pajama bottoms, they're so cute! I don't remember where, but she also found some POTC (that's Pirates of the Caribbean to those of you who don't know MWH speak) pajama bottoms and she is, well, excited and happy just don't cut it. LOL I also found me some Tink pajama bottoms and they are adorable. Hell, I'm adorable in them. LOL

Today we're going downtown and hitting the stores, maybe taking in a movie or going horseback riding. I'm not sure really, I'm too busy relaxing this morning.

Happiness is a crock of beans

That saying is a crock in its self. Actually, it is something we saw on our drive through Colorado yesterday. Along with the words was a picture of a cowboy cooking a big, giant crock of beans. Yummmm. It's cold here and a big, ol' mess of beans sounds so good, I think they'd hit the spot right now!

We've made it to our vacation destination of Cody, Wyoming!! We left Miami, OK, on Wednesday at 6:00pm. We packed and loaded the Jeep up Tuesday so we were ready to hit theroad! Luckily, we hit very little traffic and absolutely no weather on the way. Nice. I couldn't have asked for a better trip! We hit Cody about 7:00 last night (Thursday) and went out for dinner at the local Chop House. Bob had a massively thick pork chop, MWH had a pot roast sandwich that made me drool, it looked sooooooooo good, and I had crab! YUM-OH!!!!!

I can't wait until tomorrow!! We're going shopping here in town in the morning and to Billings, MT, in the afternoon for more shopping and dinner at the Texas Roadhouse! WOO HOO!
